Services
•Physical Examination: Because one calendar year is roughly seven to a cat or dog, an annual to semiannual exam is important to keep pets healthy and catch problems while they are still manageable. Early detection of disease means a better prognosis for treatment. This is also a very important time for communication between pet owners and veterinarians as preventative information and techniques can be discussed.
•Small Animal Vaccinations: Healthy pets start with a complete series of puppy or kitten vaccinations. Puppies need first vaccination at 6 weeks and kittens at 9 weeks. As pets become adults, specific vaccination needs may change. We will guide you with an appropriate vaccination plan for your pet.
•Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification through Home Again Recovery Services. In a matter of seconds, a microchip is placed under the skin which will permanently identify you pet should he/she become lost. The chip contains your pet's identification number which may be read with a hand held scanner. All animal control professionals, animal shelters and veterinarians have these scanners on hand to help pets find their homes.
•Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. From the elective spay or neuter to the emergency c-section, we offer comprehensive surgical care.
•Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs (heart rate, respirations, and O2 Saturation) are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
•Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for Serum Chemistry, Hematology (CBC), Electrolytes, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia Testing (OHW), FIV (aids)/FelV (Leukemia) Testing, Pancreatitis Enzyme Snap Test, Giardia Testing, Parvo Antigen Testing, Cytology (ear infection, ear mites, blood, fine needle aspirate), Fungal Cultures, Skin Scraping with Analysis, a Complete Urinalysis (dip- stick and sediment), and Parasite Testing (float, direct, and smear). We also utilize veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
•Imaging Services: Our on-site, digital radiography equipment provides high quality radiographs (x-rays) to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Digital technology allows for transmission of radiographs via the internet to the Veterinary Imaging Center where board certified radiologists can review special cases. We also have ultrasound capability which gives information radiographs cannot. Ultrasound shows the finer details of organs and allows diagnosis of lesions only centimeters in size.
•Dentistry: Dental health is extremely important as vital organs are potentially at risk. Pets' hearts, lungs, kidneys, and other organs may acquire an infection from bacteria in the mouth. Tartar traps this bacteria and is continuously exposing the body to infection. Our dental services include ultrasonic scaling, to remove tartar, followed by a thorough polishing to prevent tartar deposition. After your pet's teeth are pearly white (and breath fresh), we will help you with a tartar prevention plan right for you and your pet.
•Veterinary Specialist Access: We work closely with specialists in veterinary medicine and when necessary can give referrals in the following fields: internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, oncology, opthalmology, and cardiology.
•Pharmacy: We maintain a wide range inventory of pharmaceuticals, shampoos, heartworm preventatives, and flea and tick control products to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription and regular diets from Science Diet/Hills.
•Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We can also help control certain conditions with certain foods designed more specifically to the condition's nutritional requirements.
•Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice and referrals to a behaviorist regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
•Boarding: We provide pet boarding for dogs and cats as a service to our clients. Boarders have to be current on Rabies, DHLPP-C (distemper), Bordetella, and Intestinal Parasite Screens. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff and all kennels are housed indoors and all pets are provided with towels and blankets for comfort. Dog boarders have a covered patio with individual runs where they go several times a day to use the bathroom. You may provide them with their own food, but we do feed the Purina EN diet to them if none is provided. This diet is designed to help prevent any stomach problems that can be cause by stress or switching foods. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Sorry there are no After Hours Pick Ups.
