Our Doctors

roberduncanDr. Robert Duncan 

     Dr. Robert grew up in Gainesville, Texas.  He graduated from
Texas A&M University in 2001 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
degree.   His first five years as a DVM were in Austin, TX of which 
the last two were spent practicing emergency medicine.   He and 
Dr. Virginia-Nell Duncan moved to San Antonio in October 2006.  He 
has been at Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital since June of 2007.  
The Doctors Duncan own one dog, Sam, and two Siamese cats, Bob 
and Sassy.  All of their pets were adopted from rescue groups in
College Station, Texas.   
         
      "I am a veterinarian because of the special bond between people
and their pets. As a pet owner I know and respect this bond.  It is 
a privilege to be a part of this profession."

Dr. Virginia Nell Duncan  

     Dr. Virginia Nell Duncan is a native San Antonian.  She is a 2002 
graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University.
She and Dr. Robert married in October of 2002.    She began working
at Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital part time in 2004 and then 
purchased the hospital with her husband  in 2007.   Striving to help the 
animal overpopulation problem is a priority for the Duncans.  They
are active supporters of SNIPSA, a nonprofit rescue organization based 
out of San Antonio.  At any given time a SNIPSA foster dog is living at 
their home.  The San Antonio Zoo is another nonprofit organization the
Duncans actively support.  Dr. Virginia Nell Duncan is currently serving 
on the Board of Directors.   
   
     "The only thing I have ever wanted to do was be a veterinarian.  
I can remember pretending to doctor our family's goat when I was 
seven years old."

timlordDr. Tim Lord

   Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital welcomes Dr. Tim Lord.   

     Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Lord graduated with honors from

Vanderbilt University in 1996, majoring in Biology.  He received his

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from University of Georgia in 2002. 

Dr. Lord moved to San Antonio in 2003 to practice small animal medicine

and has recently joined the staff at Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital. 

Dr. Lord’s wife, Leslie, is also a veterinarian.  They have 3 dogs: Lottie

(the Dottie), Wally "Gator" and Mortimer (Mortie); they also have 2 cats,

 Cramer and Aslan.  He and his wife enjoy traveling in their free time and

cooking exotic foods.

 

 "I consider myself fortunate to have found such a rewarding career.  I

don't think most people get a chance to help both people and animals

the way a veterinarian can.  My wife and I are very lucky!"
